The F.R.O.G.

Hello Friends and Family, this is Brent...

...and this is my family...

...and welcome to my FROG!

Being someone generally against the use daily use of things like cell phones, Facebook, Ebay, Myspace, and yes, BLOG's, it was difficult for me to admit that I wanted to chronicle our family vacation in an online format. So to appease only me, welcome to my FROG.

F.R.O.G. - Family Roadtrip Online Grind
Now, if anyone asks, I can say that I am not a Blogger! I am a Frogger! (whatever)
I have decided to publish in this forum our itinerary for your perusal, despite my paranoia that once published online, the government will track our movements and search our home for weaponry. Luckily, Jody (former student and trusted house sitter), Max (dog lacking intelligence), and Gizmo (new attack kitten) will ward off any government invasion of our Colville residence. In addition, it is doubtful that government satellite tracking systems are specifically tuned into silver mini-vans hauling a 1985 pop-up trailer with a Big-Mac strapped to the roof.
Yes, before we even embark, visions of Chevy Chase's Vacation fill our minds of dogs being tied to the bumper and relatives tied to the roof. I am sure that our trip will have its own form of comic releif and that is why I will keep you all in the loop via the FROG. (I will remember to back out of the garage before attaching the luggage to the roof.)

Hi Brent,
I happened to be sitting here at my computer when your F.R.O.G. notice hit my in box. Hey that was a nice surprise. Kent and I enjoyed reading your itinerary. Sounds like you have a great trip planned and we look forward to reading online about your trip as you travel along. What fun. We certainly are looking forward to your visit with us and to catching up on the news of each other's lives. We especially look forward to getting acquainted with Sam and Ella. We have sort of gotten to watch them grow thanks to Marci's blog and the pictures she posts but meeting them in person will be so much better. .... Oh one thing .... you guys do know don't you, that we live in Torrington now and not at Fort Laramie???? Kent gulped when reading your itinerary!

However we only live 20 miles from Fort Laramie and 30 miles from our old ranch home and it would be fun to show them to you if you are interested. You guys are going to see our part of Wyoming at it's very best. We have had an unusually abundant amount of rainfall this spring and the prairie is the greenest we have ever seen it in all the years we have lived here. It's just beautiful! Coming at the end of a 7 year drought it is a tremendous delight for us. I'm so glad that you are going to get to see it. By July 19th it will probably be past it's greenest but it will still be beautiful. It's exciting to know that in just three short weeks we will be seeing you. :-) :-)

Love and hugs,
Aunt Alice

Enjoyed reading the frog, Brent. At least you didn't call it the Toad-(Trips Often Annoy Dad). And if you are willing to haul cargo on the top of your vehicle, I'm sure Dave would pay you to haul back some of the in-laws when you leave to go back home.

Well I have been reading the FROG - everynight I think what wonderful memories your Sam and Ella will have of this vacation - not to mention for you two. Can hardly wait to see all four of you - I do have one question - did Marci drink the cheap coffee. I think that is one of those habits she should break - not the cheap coffee but the mocha/latte or whatever the flavor of the day might be. Drive safe and see your very very soon. Love Dar
